The Journey Begins

Welcome to my first-ever blog post. I am so glad you’re here!

Writing has always been my passion. I love telling stories, imagining the world in new ways, and connecting with other book lovers. In 2020, I found BookTok and discovered an entirely new way to connect with the book-loving community.

But more than anything, 2020 inspired me to really embrace my dreams and commit to the future I want.

Fergus oversees my writing for the day.

So, I started signing up for every free webinar I could find. How to make 6-figures writing romance, how to self publish in ten easy steps, how to write books that sell… And at the end of all of that, I assembled enough information to make a plan. But ultimately, I needed to write.

I completed my first novel (actually my second. I wrote my first in college… but we don’t talk about that one) in August 2021. It’s an epic, romantic fantasy that follows a young woman from our world who is dropped into an alternate universe where she has an unusual gift and a throne to inherit. It’s very Princess Diaries meets Chronicles of Narnia. I love it. But according to my beta readers… it needs work. So I’ve put that on the shelf.

I have almost completed my second, slightly less ambitious book, the first in a series called Immortal Regency. It will be coming out next year on Amazon. It is a regency romance with a twist… a vampiric twist. The 7th grader in me who loved Twilight and watching Pride and Prejudice with my mom is very pleased.

As I go through the process of independently publishing my first novel, I’ll be sure to record the process. I have a feeling I’ll make a lot of mistakes, learn by failing, and generally muck around, but I hope the adventure is helpful to others (and lucrative for me!)

I’m just manifesting here, but in a couple of years, I want to be a full-time author.

You tell ’em, Kelly.

So if you want to know what’s going on, stay connected! I won’t be a pest, I promise. 😉

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.
